New fish

I have a 29 gal with two pleco s a catfish and a buffalo head chiclid, I had some other fish but they died so I just got q jack dempsy. Will this combination be ok? I'm looking at getting a bigger tank later on at somepoint too

nope for two reasons, one that tank is way to small for long term and short term second one is rift lake cichlid other is central american.
