I just found a great way to get rid of bacteria blooms. You simply need something to "outcompete" for the nutrients. Guess what I found to outcompete a bacteria bloom - an algae bloom. Now my tank water is green instead of white. Pretty cool.

I'm not really looking for help/solutions, I just wanted to complain.

P.S. sorry about the sarcasm.

That's half of the solution to your problem, lol. The other half is heat, lol. I just wiped out my green water in 3 days by treating with heat for ick, lol. Today is day #4 and my tank is crystal clear. But think about it first before doing it. Heat may also affect plants. But for only 3 days, no ill effects yet, and I will be treating for 3-4 weeks probably, til my ick is gone. No choice in that matter for me.
