nitrate test readings

someone posted a dilution formula to make it easier to get an accurate nitrate reading. those colors are hard to distiguish. any help would be appreciated.

Dilute it 50 - 50 with tap or distilled water which you know has a nitrate reading of 0. Then test and double the reading.

If it is in the red, which it is usually when it is hard to read, it is probably time for a water chage.

Yep. If you dilute the tank sample 50-50, then your nitrate level will be twice what the diluted reading shows.
