For an Amazon Biotype?
If so, when I had mine, my Nitrate was around 5-10, Nitrite always at 0, and pH was around 6.0 - 6.6

how do u keep the ph low without turning the water to tea

Well my tape was quite low so that really helped.
But I think to keep it at that would be having some driftwood or Indian Almond leaves in the tank < it'll also give it a more natural look.
If you can't get the pH to be that low, then a regular aquarium pH (7.0 - 7.8) would be just fine too.
