Have been doing a fishless cycle and on day 4 I have white stuff growing on my drift wood.any ideas what it is.what should I do remove the wood an scrub it.temp is 27.I'm using ammonia start up

It's normal on new wood in a tank. Its a type of fungus. It will go away on its own eventually. You can stub it off but it might come back again. Won't harm anything just an eyesore.
