It took me months of preparation to accommodate these guys into my 20 gallon and even then I can't say they're always going to be compatible. I thought it would be nice to document their interactions for those who are interested.
2 Red Claws and 2 Fiddlers. One male and one female each.
The male Fiddler, although smaller than both Red Claws, seems to be the top crab in the setup. He will wave his big claw when the other male gets near to which the Red Claw will back down. I found this to be fascinating and was wondering whether it had to do with the size of his claw. No one ever fights over territory or food but I'm astonished at how well the male Fiddler keeps everyone in check. Does anyone know if in fact, claw size correlates to crab behavior?
