OB Peacock coloring

I know they're not everyone's favorite but, around what size do they start coloring up? Also do females stay drab like real peacocks?

Around 3inch to show some real colour. Funnily enough i was doing my rounds in my lfs's today! They have a tank with adult OBs. Not for sale unfortunatly. The females actually had more colour than i expected, no where near the male though. Ive never liked OBs but this perticular male was striking.

Thank you Molli. Mine is around 2.5 inches. Barely any color yet. He/she is a slow grower. Great little fish though, big eater.
