Oceanic model six plus skimmer

Any one useing these? I have one on my 75 gallon ,40 gallon sump. It came with a Eheim hobby pump. Well anyway the pump finally died . Lfs has a rio 1700 . The rio is bigger in the gallon per hour rating. Is two much water flow threw skimmer bad?

You'll get better results with low water flow and high air flow than you will with high water flow. It takes time for the foam to build and too high a flow will not let it happen.
