odyssea uv sterilizer 18w

i just bought a uv sterilizer and was wondering if this sounds right.i put the pump in the sump,ran the hose into the sterilizer ran outlet hose back into the sump tank.will this be alright.or do i have to run the outlet hose into the main tank?it came with a flow valve but not sure onthe flow rate.btw it has a 1000 gph.i do i adjust the flow rate for a75gal tank?

Remember you want the flow rate to be slow so it will have a better kill ratio. Not too slow but I do believe that 1000 gph will be too fast to be effective. JMO. Also moving this to General Hardware and equipment discussion.
