Old man tetra

Never sure if it was a boy or a girl but we just call him the old man now. He was one of our first fish ever and has been through everything imaginable. Now he is just starting to waste away and his eyes and getting cloudy. He's not going down without a fight, I know that. It's just sad to know he is nearing the end.

He is three and was our "learning" fish. Every morning I turn the light on he comes to the front of the glass.

Looks like a lamp eye/red eye tetra. Sorry to hear that, it's hard losing fish you've known for so long

If by lamp eye it also means head and tail light than yes! Hehe. Do many different names.

Got sad reading your post, all fish especially first fish are hard to loose. Good look with him.

He is still with us. Not eating much though. I'm worried but he was tough and I know he has been through so much, if it's his time it's his time.
