I recently moved, and like an idiot I forgot to put my filter cartridge in aquarium water while moving. So now my tank is cycling again. Two days ago I noticed one of my cory cats had barbules that where half their original length. I have been doing daily 50% water changes and dosing with melafix since then. I took the filter cartridge and have placed it in a 2 gallon fish tank (uninhabited) with a sponge filter to try and re-culture the bacteria and save it from the melafix. I have also cleaned the sand. I don’t see any improvement with my cory, in fact I think its barbules have gotten even shorter. Its behaving normal, its just losing its barbules. What should I do?
