oscars & dempsey's(spelling)?

how long do oscars & jack dempsey (sp?) live for? my boyfriend has had his at least 6 years.. how long will they be expected to live.. we love them & are worried they may be nearing their time(gulp) =/

Oscars can live 10+ years I believe. Not sure about JD's.

I think in the case of oscars in particular it will be important to provide a large enough tank for them if they are to live as long as they can. If they are in a 55 they likely won't live as long as they would if they were in a 120.

we have ours in a 90 gallon tank now that he has grown, & we will keep getting a bigger one as long as he keeps growing.
