How can I find the over flow rating for my tank? I need to know so I know what size of pump I need. Thank in advance!
Ok thanks a lot and if it's to much I could always tone it down with a t valve ...
How high the pump has to push the water, the higher it has to push the water, it slows down the flow rate. So it flows faster 2' high than 4' high, so you have to take into account the 'head' height for the actual flow rate of the pump.Head height? Please explain.

Posted within seconds after meThanks beat me to it
Ok. But wouldn't most of the water go back into the sump if I have the valve on the main return since the line going back to the sump would be the path of least resistance?
