Hey guys. I accidently made a goof up. I have a 55 g tank with a lot of fake plants in it. I hadn't seen my pearl gourami in awhile so I thought it had died. She is a female. I ordered another female last night and before I went to bed was looking and saw mine hiding in the plants. Although I am relieved that she is still alive, I am now worried. Should the two have any problems co-existing? Is my tank big enough for the two of them? Thanks

In theory, 2 females should be fine. Pearl gouramis typically do well in trios (1 male with 2 females), so I think 2 females is ok. Your tank is big enough so even if they don't like each other, they will each have their own space. :)

Pearl gourami are, IME, the most peaceful of the larger gourami. I wouldn't hesitate to keep a pair of females in a 55. We have kept a group of 6 in a 40 breeder without issue.
