Pearl gourami questions

So I picked up a pearl gourami today at my LFS. I was told it was a female. And would like I make sure of that.. I also noticed to small bumps/dots on the fish. O on the top rear end of the fish. And another on the bottom fine. Would anyone be able to identify what these are?

So yours might be a female and another way to tell is the anal fin

From what I know of gouramis...that is a female. The dorsal and anal fins are rounded...not pointed...so female. . Pretty fish!

That is good to hear. I am just worried about the dots I noticed on her

Yep definitely female, I have a male his fins are more pointed & he's more colorful

Its probably ick so get tablets to treat them

Is it like the fish has been sprinkled with grains of salt?

Yes both bumps look like that

Are the spots fuzzy?...discoloration in the scales?...it's hard to tell from the photos. They look larger than ich spots to me...

The scales are normal. Spots or more a pale white color. Hard to take photos she is very skidish. Is that normal?

Are they growing or changing in any way? What is in with her? Do you use salt in your tank?
