Alright so for my freshwater tank, I've always used tap water. Out of the tap, the pH is 8.0. We have a "descaler" on the house because of all the hard water marks it leaves in our showers, sinks, etc. The dKH out of the tap is 7. What I find most interesting, is that the RODI unit I use for my saltwater tank reads 4 ppm of TDS. Yes, only 4 PPM! With it being extremely low, how can my water be this "hard". I have a feeling that it's extremely high in calcium content but low in minerals, toxins, and everything else that make up TDS. This would also explain why the KH is so high and I can't adjust my pH levels. Thoughts??? I'm at a loss.
PS- 4 ppm of TDS was before adding the "descaler" onto the plumbing.
