I'm trying to add cory cats to my main tank but I want the ph's to match up before I make the move.
The ph in the cory QT tank is 7.0 but the ph of the main tank is 6.3.
I bought a ph stabilizer which put the ph to 6.8-9 but after one day it was back at 6.3.
I don't know what would be causing this, other than I added 3 corkscrew vals a while ago which I was told did not need lighting, since then since then they have lost a few stalks and are fading a lot in color (tomorrow im taking them out adding silk plants).

What kind of stabilizer did you use?
I use ph 7.0 Netural Regulator made by seachem.
It adjusts high OR low ph to 7.0
I got a 8.8oz bottle at my lfs for $9 it treats 500-1000gal.
So it should last you a while.
IMO it works great.

Let us know.

I don't like any of those chemical stabilizers. One wrong move with them and you end up with major difficulties. Rocks, driftwood, gravel, one of those must be lowering your ph. If you can find out what it is, you should be able to correct the problem without resorting to chemicals.

So you use the same stuff and it doesn't work.
Hmmm...
Well im at a loss as to why it didn't work.
It always works for me.

Like corvuscorax said it may be some rock or driftwood.

My tank is almost completely barren, all it has until the cory cats arrive is gravel thats been in it for years and some vals.
