Hello all,

First time poster, long time reader.

I was hoping you guys could help me out solving this mystery. Two days ago I purchased a couple Large Pictus Catfish (5" Long) from my LFS. They were doing well an appeared happy, no unusual behaviour. One day later I came home in the afternoon and fed my fish, then about two hours later I came back and found both catfish dead. No bite marks, no disease visible, just dead. I was shocked because they looked perfectly fine at feeding time.

Info on my tank:
75gal
78'f
6.8-7.0ph
<0.2 amonia
<5 ppm NO3

Tank has been set up for over 2 years
Bellow substrate and a canister filter

Tank mates
2 Oscars 4"-5"
2 Rainbow shark 3"

Other fish are doing fine.
Look forward to the replies and thanks in advance.

All I can think of is they had some problem from the lfs and something at feeding time set it off. But honestly, a wild guess.

Edit - actually, did you switch filters off and on for feeding? Also are your readings from a liquid based test kit?
