So I thought I'd try to circumvent paying for plants in the long run and am wondering what i would need to have a plant only tank other than a really good lighting system, air circulation and fertilizer.

Check out naturalaquariums.com She uses shop lights and gravel. No filters, her tanks are beautiful. Hope tih helps. I have three tanks and use plant substrate, filters and sunblaster plant lights.

Oh, I know that AQ. I thought this would be interesting to try as I build up the 40G and 30G that I have now. They (the plants) seem to be doing well there so I thought I'd take some starts and clips from them to see what I could do.

I also have a 75 gallon tank in the garage that I'm planning for and figured if I could jump start some now, for when I set up the 75 next month I could transfer them over, as I want to do something really unique with it but haven't exactly decided which avenue to go with.
