If you saw her beautiful golden yellow color before, you would disagree...but she is still my "orange" queen of the tank.My fish look amazing under my light as i guess the lfs I got the light from lied to me about it being for plants, it's more for fish tbh, but hey can't go wrong with an orange fish lol jk

Queen of the tank...she may be an Angel, bit sometimes an aggressive devil! She still looks beautiful
Ohhhhhhh, so I should bunch up 2-3 Wendtii? I don't have a mother plant I did read trimming roots leads to fuller growth but I'm not trying to uproot my plants every couple weeks lol,, would trimming a few of the longest leaves promote more growth in the middle like an amazon sword? Or would this just because of my lack of par. That's because that pic is a mother plant with a bunch of side shoot/offspring plants growing from the base.
If you want to achieve that look you'll have to plant smaller wendtii's amongst the larger ones.
Especially around time to lay eggs , that is if you have a mated pair.Queen of the tank...she may be an Angel, bit sometimes an aggressive devil!

It's still very stressful on them to do that though, so I'm assuming you have 2 females and 2 males or 3 females and one male or 1 female and 3 males the configuration is complex lolI have 4 Angels in that tank that just reached adulthood. Her and another ang fight so violently in a swirling way that they almost create whirlpools...I mean violent. She always wins but neither get hurt.
I think you're right. I actually think goldy is male. I think one of my koi is a female, because she did the egg laying move up an undergravel tube with the other koi following her waiting to fertilize the eggs. No eggs got laid because Goldy and the striper were there bothering them. I seperated the 2 koi to their own tank for 3 days and they wouldn't eat, so I put them back. It's still very stressful on them to do that though, so I'm assuming you have 2 females and 2 males or 3 females and one male or 1 female and 3 males the configuration is complex lol
If I got a light with more par than 15 at 18" (that's estimating from Elive's word) would it help with not losing lower leaves / more middle growth? It's fairly tough to keep them like that. The photo was taken right when the mother plant was bigger than the offspring plants. But in a month after that picture was taken the offspring plants will be just as big as the mother plant. What I do with sword/crypts is buy them small, grow them large, remove/sell and replace with smaller ones, repeat.

Lol dennis wong is saying to throw on a twinstar, I'm not rich lol, or the satellite but that's also $250.00 dollars yikesIt won't hurt that's for certain. Happy plants will not shed the lower leaves, meaning sufficient light, fertilizer and carbon.

Current USA 18"-24" Satellite Plus PRO LED Light https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QVGH7CG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EQ35Ab21H6CR9
I can't go with t5's I have no ac and In the summer my tank would get blazing hot, the satellite is a very popular light and also very costly the 48"is 245.00, the finnex 24/7 is half that which I don't know why, Dennis said I'm Lacking par so I need to get a stronger light to penetrate to the bottom more but what my plants are doing is very common in low tech no soil no co2Sat+ Pro is "old" now. Much better options available. Twinstar is yes, a premium that comes with a premium price tag. T5-HO's are still hard to beat.

Okay so I've been researching what you posted, the satellite is 70 par at 18" but I can't find par ratings on the fluval, it's also $60.00 less than the satellite which is a bonus, dennis says the fluval is a really decent light and probably better built and it cheaperYes, the fluval 3.0 is a far superior light than the sat+ pro and finnex. T5's will probably run cooler than high output LEDs anyway.... I've never had issues running 4 x 54W T5's over my 90 gal in terms of it heating the water either.
I'm very torn with finnex quality... too many stories of it burning out after the 1 year warranty period expired. Fluval has 3 year warranty, 100% water proof, fully customizable and more PAR if needed.
