Plate coral

It's a crappy actinic IPhone pic but there is some algae growing on my plate coral. I was wondering if I can just pull it of with some tweezers.

I would remove it.

better to vacuum it of with a turkey baster picking at it may cause spores that will spread the algae

Well my hands are pretty much greased monkeyed right now to put in the tank but it looks like it is stuck on there. I was thing about pulling the coral out of the tank then tweezing it off in a cup of tank water.
