They have taken over everything like aphasia. Do they have natural predators? I even thought they were a hybrid form of apraxia.
 
They can be prolific, but they aren't "harmful". There are plenty of soft coral predators, but by definition they aren't reef safe.
 
Some dwarf angelfish nibble at these. Some soft corals are like this, in that they multiply like crazy when you don't want it to, and when you do, it doesn't lol.
