Please help identify

Hey all... Just found these things on a piece of driftwood. Hope you can see them in the picture. Their about 1/4" long, have a black base, and white featherlike fingers. Ideas? Thanks!

Google pics dont look like that. I'll look some more. Any other ideas. Hydra? Staghorn? Its a small prob now, would like to nip it in the bud. Thanks!

I use Seachems Flourish Excel. And I take a syringe and put it right on the algae. That works good and a lot of fish stores recommend that.
