I've read about it happening before, can I put my pleco in a pond? It's a common pleco and he's getting big, he's 1 foot to 13 inches long. My dad is getting a pond made soon and I was wondering if I could put him in their?

Depends. If you can add a little crevice or something. In the wild they are usually found chillin in burrows along the lake shore, this is where they hide etc. Mine used to hide in a stump in my 10g as a baby (all my baby plecos lived in the 10g until they hit 5.5in) .

how big is the pond? can it support fish? are there hiding spots for the pleco?

all this is imo

I'm not sure how big the pond is or anything about it because my dad hasn't even had the pond made yet. But I read up more about it and I don't think If can be done anyway....I live in New York, wouldn't he freeze in the winter?
