Plen Plax Cascade 700 won't restart after while of not using it.

So a while back i got a 55 gallon aquarium and housed a tiger oscar for a while before it jumped out of the tank. After about 3 months of using it i decided to get a Ryukin goldfish for it and i cleaned the filter and everything else so i filled it with water and tried starting up my filter following the instructions i kept and it will run for about 30 seconds then the water will just run back the hose to the filter. Any suggestions on what to do???

Check to see if air is inline somewhere in the filter system. also ensure that the impeller is unobstructed by debris, small snail, etc.
