does polyps require lights for nutes?? i feed mine 2 times a week and was wondering if i should put them to the upper portion of the tank...

Most polyps are photosynthetic and require light to survive. How much light is dependant on the polyp, so please answer darb2's questions and we can help more.

im not sure. it came with the live rock..... looks kinda pinkish and opens up like a disc...... its starting to multiply now so i guess its happy

Most corals use availble energy for life supporting purposes, if there is energy left over they use it to repair damage, and if there is still energy left over they use it for growig/expanding...so if it's multyping it's probably doing pretty good as you mentioned already.

how much light do orange button polyps require i have 5 watts per gallon in a 16 high tank should i put them near the bottom?
