Today, ready for new year changes to planting - love doing a new year change!

If you are interested I'll pull a couple of plants up and show you the roots, they look very heathy to me.

You can get away with it for a while, but eventually if the rhizomes are covered they rot.

My 240 litre in full swing, no CO2, no soil base layer just gravel, easycarbo,Tropica premium fertiliser, 2xT5 arcadia plant pro bulbs, JBL substrate balls.

I've been getting great results for the past 4-5 months and I now have double the plants, my narrow leaf java fern did root and I only have two plants left so in the morning I'll get them up and on to some wood

You will notice far more growth with the roots exposed, I actually think it looks more natural when grown on something.

I did have some but it slowly rooted away due to no co2 so I'm thinking of getting some baby tears

Baby tears needs more CO2 than parvula. Was it definitely parvula you had? I've grown it in non CO2 tanks, Eleo mini needs CO2. Try sagittaria subulata if your looking for a grass like plant, if you keep plucking out the longer stems it stays short.

Thats a cool community you have there. May I ask what kind of fish you have mixed together? I like the bigger guys with droopy fins.

I'm upgrading my 29g in the next couple days most likely to a 55g and want to add to my stock when I do so I'm looking for some ideas.
