Yep it's me :)

In my new 55gallon tank freshwater.. My brother bought
Me a marineland maxi-jet 1200.. Looks like the largest pump they make
295 gph powerhead and 1300 gph circulating pump.. It looks like the unit has multiple ways
To set it up.. They say
1 powerhead
2 utility pump
3 circulating pump

I have no idea if this is to big for a 55 gallon and what to use
The utility pump or the powerhead..

The bottom of my aquarium is sand!!! This thing has sucktion
Cups.. Guess it will be bad news if it falls and blows the sand around

I'm not sure the different pump functions.
Powerhead, circulating, utility pump.
All looks the same to me..
Think this thing will blow my fish all over
And yep if it falls and the suction cups fail
It's going to blow sand all over

I'm running a 550gph power head in my 55 gallon tank. Fish seem to love it. Just point it up a little toward the surface to give some surface movement.

Ohh that's nice!!! Ok..

What I'm worried about is do I need to return
The maxi jet I have ?? It has 3 suction
Cups for the inside of the tank.. If it fails
It's going to shoot sand all over..

Do I go out and buy a magnetic one??
The only magnetic ones I have seen
Are Hydors and it's almost 80 bucks
For one ...

Yea.
I have two Hydors for my salt tank and they are a little costly. The one you see in the picture, I got on E-bay for about 20 bucks. It does have a suction cup but it's a big one that snaps down. Seems to hold very good.

I just went on e-bay and saw the exact one I have for 14 bucks..free shipping. Just do a search for power heads and you will see it

Oh thanks.. So that one is not a magnate huh ..
Ok... I'll do a ebay search.. If I decide to use the
Maxi jet maybe I should tie a string to it
So incase the Suctions fall off it won't fall and screw
Up my sand
