Protein skimmer

So I traded my Cichlids today and in the bundle that I got I received an ASM-G-1x skimmer, anyone use these and can tell me if it will be good for my 75 gallon tank? It didn't come with any info. Also got a Coralife turbo twist 3 uv sterilizer, are these necessary?

As far as I have heard that is a good skimmer. its rated for 150 gallons so it should work fine. you could use the uv sterilizer if you want but I don't run one.
