PVC and Saltwater

I've only seen solid core PVC used in aquariums, but does anyone have any experience with/know if foam core pvc is marine tank safe?

Working on a DYI overflow for my non-drilled 125 gal build.

I wouldn't use foam core in the case that it cracked on the inside or somehow the foam was in contact with the water. Would possibly polute your tank with toxins.

Yes, in the application that I have in mind the foam core would be exposed to water on the ends. That's why I am asking.

Anyone know if the foam IS toxic?

Otherwise, I will err on the side of caution and not use it.
