Question about rams

I have tried to keep blue rams before but they have only lasted about maybe a month or two in my tank and then died for no apparent reason.
I was wondering if any of you guys or gals might be able to give me any helpfull info. i want to try then again after I change my substrate in a couple of weeks.

I have never kept blue rams, but I do have bolivian rams which have been fairly easy to keep. Somewhat skittish but mostly friendly.

Blue rams are unfortunately known for what you described. Many are injected hormones to breed early and have bright colors.
The best bet is to find some that were not bred this way. If you have a local aquarium club you can check there. Aquabid would work too.
