So i have been looking into getting a ray for a freshwater tank. I have seen a few videos on youtube as well as have seen things on other forums about getting them. I will be getting a 75 gallon in a month or so, so i was hoping to get a little advice on how to get one and weather a 75 gallon would even be bigg enough.

Ive always wanted a ray so i hope i can get one !

I believe a 75 gal is too small. Don't know much else but saw a article in Aquarium Fish International and rays need big tanks to be able to turn.

I Enquired at the lfs a few months ago about tank requirements for rays. I was told you need a tank at a very minimum of 5ft x 2ft wide (front to back) how tall the tank is doesn't really matter.

I too have wanted a fw ray for some time now. All the research I've done states a minimum footprint of 6'×3' for a full grown specimen.

Depends On the ray. Most need atleast a 3 foot base. They also, like sharks, don't like corners in their tanks.

200+ g tank required
