I recently rescued, yes I say rescued 1 bn pleco, 1 synodontis zebra hybrid catfish and 2 unknown African cichlids. The tank and fish were bought on a buy sell trade site that mother in law shops on. They came with the 75 gal tank along with the canister filter and everything. They weren't in the best of shape and my husband and I are doing everything we can and their health is greatly improving. ( We will be removing the bn pleco cause he and the catfish don't get along at all, don't know how they were together for as long as the guy said he had them) I just need some help identifying what kind of cichlids they are exactly and if possible gender. (These guys seem to like when the air stone is on full blast)

This is about the best I could get. The guy I got them from said he hadn't done anything with them in months, so they run anytime someone gets close to the tank. The lighter of the 2 is getting a little bit better about coming out from hiding though.

Going to attempt to upload this video I took. Forewarning, the darker of the 2 has fin damage and a couple other things going on, medicating the tank tonight.

I apologize for the horrible lighting in the beginning.

The mug on the 2nd picture in the 1st post looks like an Oscar with the turned down mouth and bulging eyes but the picture isn't clear.

Uploading it to YouTube now. Taking forever for it to upload but will post the link as soon as it's done

I only got them a couple days go. Both are a bit brighter than when I got them and the darker of the 2 has started moving around and using his damaged fin. When I picked the up everything in the tank was completely covered in algae and he didn't even know the catfish was in the tank. He said he hadn't touch it in months and sold everything to me for $50.

He said African cichlids. He also told me there were 4 of them. In all actuality there were 2 bn plecos 1 king tiger pleco the catfish and the 2 cichlids. When I found the king tiger and the cat he was just as surprised as I was

Red fin borelyi

*maybe not. Could be a very stressed out female but I don't think so
