recommendations on top/active swimmers

i got a 45 gallon planted tank.
im wondering if anyone here has good recommendations on adding any other fishes that would help make my community tank even more nice!
i want something thats either fun to watch or colorful and active/top swimmer because alot of my fishes are bottom swimmers.

my stock:

9 cardinal tetras
1 dwarf gourami
1 female betta
1 german blue ram
1 double red apisto
5 albino cory

Get like 15-20 more Cardinals, they'll be a lot more social in a larger shoal.
