Even with a small heater in the tank, the tank stays at 70-72 degrees. Before buying a new heater, I checked around the internet for what is the optimal temperature for these shrimp. Some said 75, some said 65-70, other says 80.

What is your experience with breeding these shrimp?

Thank you for your input!! I'll see how they do in 70-72 water. Fall is approaching and my home is getting chilly- I'm not turning on the house heat until I have to!

Is there a reason why CRS are so pricey? At least I think they're pricey....

they are less prolific, at least for me they are. My rcs breed like crazy and my crs hardly ever breed, so I think they are more picky about water parameters than the cherrys are.
