Reef tank? Fish tank!?!?? Rookie here

Hi all,

I'm such a rookie so bear with me. I keep reading about reef and fish tanks. Can someone explain the difference and what they mean?
I haven't done my homework yet.

The same thing really but a fish tank is a wide term. Could be salt of fresh water A reef tank is a tank the will be the home for corals and invertebrates and is obviously going to be salt. Reef normally means lots of homework and lots of effort in water conditions and changes
