restarting my planted tanks

The friendliest place on the web for anyone with an interest in aquariums or fish keeping!
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I do like the openness of the current layout.
I no longer sell trimmings like I used to (my plant diversity went from 12+ to just 3 now). From time to time my staur repens carpet needs thinning.
FB has aquabid like groups that have plants; PM me for details.

I think I see gumtree here as a few selling plants (similar to Craigslist I believe) but seems more selling going on though Facebook (mind you some shonky stuff as well).

Thanks for the info. I think I'm set on plants. Found someone selling a nice amount from another forum. Quite expensive, but I need plants. I have joined a couple FB groups as well.

CO2 is up and running fine now. Using one of Purrbox's (Old forum member) CO2 counters:

Here is the Glasso (Has just a tiny amount of green in it. Not sure it's gonna make it)

Topped the Rotala yesterday:

The Bacopa caroliniana is starting to grow. As you can see the top inch is the new growth following the purchase of it. Also says to me that the lighting should be OK at the bottom of the tank:

My ABN hard at work:

Found a nice sum of plants that should help fill out the tank:

15 - Rotala nanjenshan
2- alternanthera reineckii lilacina
6 - alternanthera reineckii
20- P. Gayi
5- ranunculus inundatus
8- polysperma sunset
12- polysperma green
16- Ambulia
15- mini myrio green
12- vallisneria
4 pygmy chain swords
7 ludwigia repens
6 cabomba carolinia
6 - Pogostemon stellatus octopus

Should get them in early next week.

You certainly operate quickly. That is quite a (nice) list.
Once you get these going, perhaps you will become a supplier yourself.

Got some plants in. Here is the lastest pic of the tank:

Eleocharis acicularis
Lobelia cardinalis 'Small Form'

Pogostemon stellatus octopus
Potamogeton gayi
Ranunculus inundatus
Rotala nanjenshan
Rotala rotundifolia
Rotala wallichii
Taxiphyllum alternans

Just letting it grow. Still have plenty of plants spread out to allow them to grow faster. I did add some Trident fern as I think it's a pretty cool looking plant.

And finally, all my tissue cultures are finally converted. A couple of them took several weeks. Namely the Rotala wallichii.

And I gotta post another of the Rotala rotundifolia. This plant is soo nice:

Wow, that is nice. What substrate / ferts tabs do you have in there again?

PFS and no fert tabs. I did use Eco complete many years ago, but didn't see any benefit and disliked the color.

Quite a few substrate products on the market now that seem worth trying.

There's the ADA products (a "light" low ammonia version is available). Brightwell Aquatics Florin Volcanit is something I've heard good reviews about.
Good luck with the Rotala wallichii. That is on my bucket list to retry; grew it for a while but it succumbed to a dark, nuisance algae (staghorn?).

Just letting it grow in. Foreground is starting to fill in as well.

Purchased some algae eaters to help with the algae. Currently in QT:

3 ABN plecos and 6 otos. Plus some MTS.

Looking nice. Very crisp.

Thanks.

Here is a nice shot of the Ranunculus inundates (Taken with an iPhone. sorry)

And a hitchhiker that came with the plants a couple weeks ago (Not including the thread algae and pond snails. :( )
