Ribbon hanging off Dwarf Cerith

What is my Dwarf Cerith snail doing?? That long band of clearish white'ish stuff was hanging off him like a ribbon.

I just did a regular water change but I did pull most of the LR out 1 rock at time to scrub it in old tank water to remove algae.

That's what I thought... I've seen that before but never so long! I wonder what the likelihood of them actually successfully reproducing & me getting more snails outta it?? Or are the eggs fishtank food?

I've had baby snails hatch before. Guess it all depends.
