I always wondered if there was a connection. Never read the credits of the Smurfs but the voice was unmistakeable.

I grew up with pooh, my kids did and now their kids. This is a corner of
my spare bedroom with just a small sampling of my pooh things. On the bed, on the right is a roofing tile from Holland that my husbands aunt sent me for my b-day. Supposedly the house was built in the 1800's...

Yes, very sad.

What a life they had! The joy and humor that they helped bring to millions of folks. Some of my fondest memories are of watching Pooh videos with my daughter 10 plus years ago. Two more stars in the skies tonight!
