safe nitrate levels for tropical freshwater fish

whats the highest level of nitrates fish can stand without doing them any damage. my nitrates in my 55 gallon had gone up to 100ppm but ive managed to get it down to 40ppm

most cichlids will tolerate levels that high, discus and rams not so much.

A sailfin pleco, yoyo loaches, a red tailed black shark and a raphael catfish

they should be fine, just increase the frequency of partial water changes and maybe reduce the feeding a bit to keep it manageable.
