I plan to replace my large pebble substrate (i thought it was a good idea at the time...) with a sand substrate tomorrow. My question is are there any plants/fish that go well with sand, My stocking levels are low and I will use this as an excuse to purchase some more fish. Also, is sand good in an aquarium and is there anything to be weary about, with the pebbles i had the problem that the fish would chase the sinking food and get stuck, so i had to watch closely during feeding and move rocks to get them out, sand should stop this i think. Thanks in advance for replies :)

Most plants will do fine in sand. Cory cats like sand. There really isn't much a difference with sand and gravel. It's just personal preference.

Make sure to rinse the crap out of the sand otherwise your aquarium will be super cloudy... After making the switch i would never go back... My fahaka is happier than ever in it
