Hey everyone, just recently I have noticed a sort of "outbreak" of Sea Squirts in my tank. I haven't been able to count, but if I had to guess I'd say there's anywhere between 5-10. They range in size between a 1/4-1 inch. They're clear in color and sort of striped at the tips of the "spouts".

Are they some sort of pest, or just harmless hitch hikers? I'll try to get a picture tomorrow (camera is out of batteries). TIA

They are harmless filter feeders. Liverocks.com rock, right? I have a good many also.

Thanks Fluff!

I did get an order recently from lr.com, but all these are growing on the old fiji lr that has been in my tank for the last year. Can they lay in some sort of dormant state and then suddenly start growing, or did one find it's way in on the new lr and just reproduce really fast?

What are ideal conditions for these little creatures? Lighting, feeding, etc.?

Thanks again.

:)
