Just wondering what the rationale is for not allowing searches on three letter words. I was trying to find posts regarding "zoanthid pox" and it won't include "pox" in my search. There are way too many posts with the word "zoanthid" for me to sort through all of them!

That is pretty much standard amongst message boards now-a-days. If you look at your post, the only three letter word that would really benefit being in the search is pox. All the other three letter words are pointless to index like; the, are, too, for, all.

Now just imagine that over the hundreds of thousands of posts we have here.

Edit:

You could use google to do it. Try searching for the following in google:

site:aquariumadvice.com/forums zoanthid pox
and
site:aquariumadvice.com/formus zoanthid

and it seems the normal and/or/exclude type search commands don't work either
