When adding seeded media should nitrates show up on water tests within 4 hrs?

They can, but it's most likely due to them being present on the media already.

I added some this am because my qt tanks are spiking ammonia . It's still showing no nitrates. I double dosed Prime but was hoping the media would kick in.

It can take some time to get going, it's always a hit and miss thing best of luck.

K thanks. I'm not having much luck so far with these guys. I just accidentally sucked one up with my syringe and killed it
