I lost 2 Golden Pristella Tetras a while back, they both had red dots and blotches uder their skin, then their gills became red and they stopped eating and eventually died. I just lost a Black Neon to the same, he had the same symptoms and his mouth was constantly open like he was gasping for air. Another of my tetras is starting to get the red spots under his skin. what should i treat with??? right now i am using Melafix and Pimafix. I also have a planted tank so treatment should be plant freindly.

What are your water parameters? Septcemia can be caused by an ammonia spike. I would first do a large water change. You could keep with the mela/pimafix and see how they do.
