I love my sol's. settings very a lot on what your desires are. I have a 75 gallon and I have my controller limiting the lights to 55%. It took me a few weeks to find this happy medium since I don't have a PAR meter. But I've seen great results at this level. If you haven't gotten he controller I highly recommend it. Lunar lighting, coral acclimation, and thunderstorms have made all the difference in my corals happiness.
No. You can accomplish this by simply putting the corals lower than the desired location and slowly moving them up. The downside of the acclimation setting is that all corals in the tank are affected. It's one of those things that I use because I have it. What you don't want is to shock your corals. I'm lucky, many of the tanks my lfs has use LEDs of similar strength. Like everything in this hobby: take it slow and you'll be fine
Let me know how they work for you when you get them
I run the Sol Blues at 90% white & 95% on the blues at peak.
What size is your aquarium??
My DT is a 125 gal and I have a 112 gal (aprox, 6' x 3' x 10") frag tank I also run them on
I do things a little unorthodox, I have the lights on 24/7 (though at the low point it's one blue at 1%)
That tanks beautiful; much deeper than your nano though. I know there is an estimated formula for how powerful lights need to be for certain depth tanks. I just don't know it. How tall is your 29?
It says 18.5 inches high. I just got it put up and man what a difference it makes already. I set it as - white 35% the blues at 40, red at 35 and green at 35.
Now were talking!!!! WOW!!!! Very very nice!!
Thanks convict I knew you would approve!
Yeah man it's SICK!!! Do I hear a video?
I will have to see what I can do about that!
