Probably the majority of marine aquariums are set up on bare floor, but I was wondering if anyone has their aquarium set up on a carpeted floor and if inadvertent spills and the like have wreaked havoc with the carpeting?

Welcome to AquariumAdvice.com!!! :smilecolros: :smilecolros: :smilecolros:
All of my tanks are on carpeted floors. While I have had some major ooppsies on the carpet it is none the worse for wear.

I've got my 55gal fw setup in the den on carpet. We just put a lot of towels down when we mess with the tank (i.e. PWC). So far so good.

I have a spare bedroom that is carpeted that has 5 large tanks in it. I have spilled water and made messes but a nice strong shopvac fixes it all ;)

Had a 55 gal fw for years on a carpeted floor in my living room. No issues. I had more problems with guests spilling drinks on the carpet than tank issues.
