Should I separate

My new gouramis are fighting it seems they want the same territory should I let them fight for their space or separate them

What type of gourami do you have?

The tank is 55 gallons but the area they are fighting for has the most hiding spaces

They are dwarf powder blue gouramis

Well, that answers that. More hiding spaces = less aggression. There's your solution!

I was thinking about adding some other dwarf gourami in, different kind do u guys think that would be ok if I add more hiding places or just stick work what I have

I wouldn't. Dwarf gouramis have a tendency to fight, especially if they're of the same sex.

That could work. But only if you have just females, or 2 females for every male, but I don't think you've got enough space for that. What sexes are the two in there now?

Exactly.

Which is why I never recommend putting two of the same sex together.
