Sick betta? Or old age?

I've had my betta Dexter for about 2.5 years now. He is my pride and joy. He lives in a 5.5g planted, filtered... And heated to 77. He is always happy and still is. But his fins don't look so awesome lately. Is he sick or getting old?



His fins use to be much fuller but this doesn't seem to bother him at all. And it's slowly been happening over time. Not fast.

He looks fine to me. I might be missing something, but I think he looks good. I like how his colors change! He looks red in the first pic and blue in the second.

Yeah he really doesn't look sick at all to me. If it's anything, I suppose it could be age.
