Silly question..

Ok so I think this is kind of a silly question. Should I use egg-crate for the bottom of my planted tank? Will the plant roots grow around the crate making it harder to remove the plants?

I see that as extremely likely scenario. It's probably similar to why UGFs aren't particularly viable in planted tanks.
